Infant Mortality Report
Public Health Informatics prepared Selected Special Statistics, Stillbirths and Infant Deaths, Kansas, 2009. The report is a special evaluation of infant mortality in Kansas, moving beyond single-year statistics reported in the Annual Summary of Vital Statistics
One of the basic indicators of a community's health is infant mortality. The infant mortality rate, while not a true measure of population health, serves as one proxy indicator of population health. This is the first such report looking at the long-term trends in infant mortality and analyzing the linked birth-infant death cohort.
