Photographs of Remediated Sites in Kansas

The Remedial Section is responsible for assessing, investigating and remediating various types of contaminated sites across Kansas. Remediation at contaminated sites may involve removal actions (excavation of soil, drum removal), on-site cleanup, off-site treatment and/or containment (capping, hydraulic control) of the identified contamination. The following categories represent various types of facilities that are a known source for environmental contamination. Photographs to document specific cases and examples of remediation activities in our state are included in each category to provide the public with an idea of the accomplishments of the Remedial Section in cleaning up the environment and protecting public health.
